Smriti Mandhana was born in Mumbai. However, at the age of two, her family moved to the town of Madhavnagar in the city of Sangli in Maharashtra.

Smriti Mandhana created a record to become the first Indian woman cricketer to score a double hundred in an ODI. She scored an unbeaten 224 runs from 150 balls during the Maharashtra vs Gujarat game in the West Zone Under-19 Tournament

Smriti Mandhana has played 2 Tests with 81 runs and a high score of 51, she has also played 51 ODIs with 2,025 runs and a high score of 135 and 74 T20Is with 1,705 runs and a high score of 86

When Smriti Mandhana turned 9, she was selected in the U-15 team for Maharashtra. When she turned eleven, she was picked for the Maharashtra U-19 team

Smriti Mandhana's family has been actively involved in her cricket career. While her father organises her cricket schedules, her mother looks after her diet, as well as clothing while her brother undergoes training sessions with her in the nets.

Smriti Mandhana scored her maiden ODI hundred only in her second game which was against Australia in 2016. Her second ton came at the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup. She scored two more after that.
