Kapil Dev-led Indian cricket team had beatean two-time world champions, West Indies and etched its name in the history

On the eve of the completion of 39 years of India winning the World Cup, Kapil Dev posted pictures on Instagram and wrote, "Tonight I celebrated the 39th anniversary of probably the most memorable innings of my life. The pictures are blurry but the people around me have remained the same (and the mongoose!)."

At 24-years-old, Kapil Dev was also the youngest skipper to win the title. He also became the first Indian captain to lift the World Cup trophy in 1983
