According to eyewitnesses, Rishabh's car collided with the divider and caught fire. The doctors said Pant suffered injuries to his forehead, back and leg. The batsman was alone in the car at the time of the accident, and according to Uttarakhand Police Director General Ashok Kumar, he broke the windscreen to get out of the burning car. Pant was not included in either the ODI or the T20I squad and the BCCI media release didn't clarify if he was injured, rested or dropped. The wicketkeeper-batter didn't feature in the ODIs in Bangladesh as well before returning for the two-match Test series.

Mumbai Indians Junior is an inter-school cricket tournament which engages school teams from across the city. This will be the third season of the tournament and it will be played in Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune. In this tournament, schools will participate in 3 categories- U16 Boys, U15 Girls and U14 Boys. More than 200 schools will participate in the tournament this season. The tournament is approved by cricket associations in their respective cities.In Mumbai, schools from MMR region along with Thane, Palghar district and Navi Mumbai will participate. After a 2 year forced pause due to pandemic, MI Junior is resuming in Mumbai. The tournament will be launched in Nagpur in January 2023 and in Pune in February in 2023.
