Berlin: German police have opened an investigation into the offence by Dynamo Dresden footballer Dennis Erdmann when he injured Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus in a German Cup match on March 3.

According to police on Tuesday, the action was "not a foul in the sporting confrontation, but an attack in order to eliminate the competition opponent", reports Efe.
