When he’s not busy terrorising opposition defenders, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland goes around spreading Christmas cheer to children in and around Manchester dressed up as Santa Claus.
In a recent video posted on his YouTube channel, the Norwegian goal-machine traded his blue and white City jersey for a red and white Santa Claus costume. He even went the whole mile, donning a bushy white beard and circular-rimmed glasses, while visiting three households in the neighbourhood, where he delivered presents to the kids before revealing his identity.
Haaland even jokingly placed one of the kids he visited on the ‘naughty list’ for being a Manchester United supporter.
Despite his impressive get-up, not every child was fooled. In the second household he visited, the kids recognised him immediately due to his voice, to which the Norwegian responded with a laugh: “I need to work on the accent — that’s the problem.”
While the 25-year-old may look affable off the pitch, it’s a different story when he crosses the white line, as many a team’s defenders can attest to. Haaland has scored 23 goals in 22 games for his club this season, across all competitions.
