London: Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex made a surprise appearance at last night's Oscars in California, claiming to The Sun: "I'm retired, I've got time on my hands now."

Fergie said he was hoping to meet Daniel Day Lewis, who he described as a "great actor." The film buff also enlisted some of his all-time favourite films.
