German football captain Bastian Schweinsteiger and Serbian tennis star&nbsp;Ana Ivanovic broke millions of hearts on Tuesday when they tied the knot in Venice.
The duo who have been in a relationship since 2014 had according to reports sent out invites to guests for the wedding in June itself.

The two have had disappointing Euro 2016 and Wimbledon campaigns. Schweinsteiger had a mediocre outing and many are speculating that he will quit the international arena soon after he gave away a penalty in semi-final against France that saw Germany being eliminated. The&nbsp;former world number tennis star, meanwhile, was dumped out in the first-round by lowly-ranked Russian qualifier Ekaterina Alexandrova at Wimbledon.

According to German daily Bild, the 31-year-old Manchester United star would marry the 28-year-old on July 12 and they had sent out their&nbsp;invitations to guests with a request that they keep themselves free between July 11 and 13.

Reports of Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic dating first surfaced after Germany won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. And rumours of their marriage sparked off soon after Germany&rsquo;s Angelique Kerber said after her Australian Open win in Melbourne that she was looking forward to Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic&rsquo;s wedding after receiving a congratulatory note and&nbsp;photograph of the couple.
