Indian football fans are in for a spectacle as FC Goa prepare to host Saudi Arabian heavyweights Al-Nassr FC at the iconic Fatorda Stadium on October 22. The buzz surrounding the fixture has reached a fever pitch, largely due to the tantalising prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo making an appearance in India, even though his participation remains officially unconfirmed.
While Ronaldo’s potential presence dominates the headlines, Al-Nassr’s star-studded squad alone is enough to make this a marquee event. The Saudi club boasts an enviable lineup, featuring the likes of Sadio Mane, the former Liverpool talisman; Joao Felix, Portugal’s dynamic forward; Kingsley Coman, the French winger known for scoring in Champions League finals; Marcelo Brozovic, the Croatian midfield engine; and Inigo Calderon, a seasoned Spanish defender. They are joined by Brazilian goalkeeper Bento Matheus Krepski and rising Brazilian talent Angelo Gabriel, promising a night of top-tier football action.
This isn’t the first time Indian football fans have had a taste of global club competition, last year, Al Hilal visited Mumbai to face Mumbai City FC.
