<p>Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani has kickstarted a new campaign on Twitter urging people to put up photos of them wearing handloom.</p>
<p>The campaign was to support Indian textiles, weavers and craftsmanship.</p>
<p>Irani initiated the campaign when she shared a picture of herself sporting a blue handwoven sari on Twitter. She captioned the post, "Indian handlooms symbolise India's heritage &amp; culture. Wear it to carry on our rich tradition and support 43 lakh weavers &amp; their families."</p>
