WWE SmackDown saw an epic show with the John Cena and AJ Styles face-off for the Royal Rumble 2017 contract signing and Dean Ambrose defeating The Miz to be the new Intercontinental champion.
Dean Ambrose faced off against Miz with distraction from Maryse who was at ringside. She once slapped Ambrose like earlier but the refereee was convinced by Dean Ambrose to send her backstage. The Miz hit the belt on Ambrose but the latter managed to kick out. Ambrose then hit 'Dirty Deeds' on &nbsp;The Miz to win the IC title.&nbsp;
WWE SmackDown Live earlier kicked off with the Intercontinental champion The Miz demanding that Renee Young apologise to him. Her boyfriend Dean Ambrose came out instead but was met by a slap from Maryse, Miz's wife. Not only that, Maryse later on found Renee Young backstage and slapped her too. Miz also slammed Renee for her 'Diry Deeds' with Dean Ambrose.
WWE superstar John Cena and AJ Styles met for the contract signing for their WWE world championship match at the Royal Rumble 2017. Styles took various potshots and called John Cena a 'has been' and also said he was much like former WWE superstar The Rock for leaving WWE for Hollywood. John Cena retaliated and called AJ Styles a 'punk' and a 'b***h' and confirmed he is here to stay in the WWE because of 'passion' someething that AJ Styles will not have. Inteference from Baron Corbin hgelped AJ Styles to kick an unaware John Cena.
Dolph Ziggler earlier lost his match to Baron Corbin and when Corbin when to hit Dolph Ziggler with a chair Kalisto came in for the save but was only met with a superkick by a furious Ziggler. This may probably suggest Ziggler turning heel.
Becky Lynch faced La Luchadora and won which turned out to be SmackDown Women's champ Alexa Bliss. &nbsp;Carmella won her match against NXT wrestler Aliyah with a little help from James Ellsworth at ringside.
Natalya and Nikki Bella engaged in a heaty war of words with major taunts and insults being passed. It went out of control after Natalya slammed Nikki Bella saying her beauty will fade off and John Cena will leave her, after which Nikki punched out Natalya.
