London: British sprinter Asha Philip, who will be racing at her first Olympics next month, insists clean athletes will not be distracted with the ongoing Russian scandal.

"As an athlete I have to go up to the line and run, regardless of whether they&rsquo;re there or not," Philip said. "It doesn&rsquo;t bother me. If they are drug cheats and they are in my race I still have to compete against them. I just have to know how hard I&rsquo;ve worked and just beat them anyway."
&lsquo;No negative energy&rsquo; "We just want all the negative energy about drugs not to be in our sport any more," Philip said. "Palm it on to someone else, we don&rsquo;t want it."
Fellow British sprinter Jodie Williams believes banning Russia&rsquo;s track and field athletes showed a strong response to the scandal. It seems there&rsquo;s a new thing every day," Williams said.
"Athletics has taken a firm stance on everything and we&rsquo;ve shown the way with banning Russia. I&rsquo;m confident there is going to be a level playing field.
"I don&rsquo;t think you can go out there thinking it&rsquo;s not, otherwise it drives you crazy."
