Hockey India (HI) on Tuesday announced the India A squad for the upcoming tour of Europe. The tour, which will feature a total of eight games against the top European sides, is scheduled to be held from July 8 to 20, with an aim of helping the emerging players a better exposure on the international circuit.
The India A squad comprises the likes of goalkeepers Pawan and Mohit Shashikumar, alongside skipper Sanjay. Moirangthem Singh has been appointed as Sanjay's deputy for the Europe tour.
The side will lock horns against Ireland, France and the Netherlands for two matches each. They will also play a match each against England and Belgium. The tour will help India to raise more promising stars with an aim to build a strong pipeline for the senior team.

Ahead of the tour, Shivendra expressed confidence in his players by saying it would be beneficial in grooming the next international players for India.
"This tour is an important platform for our players to experience the tempo, structure, and intensity of European hockey. We have selected a squad that balances potential and experience, and I am confident this tour will be immensely beneficial in grooming the next batch of international players for India," he said.

Defenders: Pratap Lakra, Varun Kumar, Amandeep Lakra, Parmod, Sanjay (C).
Midfielders: Poovanna Chandura Boby, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh (VC), Vishnukant Singh, Pardeep Singh, Rajinder Singh.
Forwards: Angadbir Singh, Boby Singh Dhami, Maninder Singh, Venkatesh Kenche, Aditya Arjun Lalge, Selvam Karthi, Uttam Singh.
Standbys: Ankit Malik (Goalkeeper), Sunil Jojo (Defender), Sudeep Chirmako (Forward).
