New Delhi: Kamalpreet Singh has improved upon his hammer throw national record with an effort of 72.86m while finishing third at the Tuscon Elite Classic in Arizona, United States today.

Kamalpreet, representing as an unattached athlete, came up with his best throw in his first of the six attempts at the University of Arizona at Tuscon. Kamalpreet's effort was the third best this season so far among Asian hammer throwers. He, however, could not find a place in the Indian team for the June 3-7 Asian Athletics Championships in Wuhan, China.
