Mumbai: Last year’s runners-up Punjab University survived a scare before advancing to the semi-finals, in the All India Inter-University squash championship organised by HR College Sports Council at the Bombay Gymkhana yesterday.

Punjab, who led 2-1 in the best-of-five quarter-final encounter against a gritty Manipal University, were forced into the decider before winning narrowly in the closest tie of the day.

Punjab set up a last four clash with Delhi, who accounted for LNIPE, Gwalior 3-0, while defending champions Mumbai halted University of Calcutta 3-0 to set up the other semi-final against Pune, who overcame GNDU, Amritsar 3-1.
