The World Championship bronze medallist, who lost the last women’s singles final here to Indonesian Lindaweni Fanetri, said she is keen to win the title with a prize cheque of USD 9,000.

“This is the start to a new year and I will give my best here. This has been a very good tournament for me. I reached the final last time and I will try to better my performance this year. But it won’t be easy.

There are many good players and some Chinese players too, who can’t be taken lightly,” said the World No 11. World No 8 Saina Nehwal is the top seed here and could meet Sindhu in the final.
