Amyn Merchant, who was entrusted the task, took a good jump from the gates and raced close to the pace, moving up gradually to assume leadership quickly on turning for home, and cleverly extended the lead to over three lengths which came in handy when Ocean Yarrman (C Rajendra up), carrying the same silks, flashed on the scene from nowhere.

Star Of Venus managed to claim the Radio One Trophy by a neck verdict from the fast-finishing runner up, with Samiel (M Kharadi up) a head behind, and Flashing Sword (M Narredu
up) a further neck away.

The grade 3, Idar Gold Trophy, feature event of the day, was annexed by the Bangalore challenger Spark Of Gold, saddled by Pradeep Annaiah, who humilated his seven rivals when posting a smashing three-length victory in the hands of jockey PS Chouhan.
