Teenage swimming star Missy Franklin won the women's 100m backstroke gold yesterday with Australia's Emily Seebohm second and Japan's Aya Terakawa third.

Franklin collected her second gold in Barcelona when she clocked 58.42secs, just missing out on the world record, with Seebohm back at 0.64 and Terakawa touched the wall 0.81 behind.
