Saraju Chakraborty (Tripura) has been elected President of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) at the federation’s Annual General Meeting in Bhubaneshwar on Sunday. 

The election for Vice-President (VP) was a tie between Naresh Shelke (Nagpur), Sabi Hussain (Delhi), S Dipak Ragav (Tamil Nadu) and Suresh Swain (Odisha).
Chakraborty received eight votes, while his opponent Abhishek Tripathi (Delhi) received four votes. 


For the VP election, the contenders received eight votes each. 



Meanwhile, Ramesh Varikuppala (Telangana) was elected Secretary, Partha Chakraborty (Assam) Joint Secretary and Sanjay Gharpure (Mumbai) Treasurer.
