Recently, javelin throw superstar Neeraj Chopra clinched a silver medal for India in the men's event of the Commonwealth Games 2026. Along with him, Yashvir Singh also clinched a bronze medal in the event, which is also his debut in the marquee tournament

This has taken India's medal tally to 23. It includes five gold, 12 silver, and six bronze medals

Among the gold medal winners are India's Asmita Dey and Harsh Singh, who achieved glory in judo. Dey became the first Indian judoka to win a CWG gold medal, whereas Singh became the first male judoka to clinch the title for the country

Among the 12 silver medals was one of Gulveer Singh's. During the race, he had his plans and executed them to win a historic silver medal in the men's 10,000 m race of the Commonwealth Games 2026

India's medal tally also includes six bronze medals. Among them, the one who stood out was para athlete Jhandu Kumar. In the men's heavyweight category, Jhandu Kumar lifted 181 kg in his first attempt for 124.7 points. In his second attempt, he improved his performance and lifted 190 kg, which helped him move to the top of the standings. However, he faced a setback in his third attempt, when he went for a lift of 196 kg but couldn’t complete it, thereby settling for a bronze medal
