After visarjan, broken Ganpati idols are being collected, recycled and given a second life as study tables, benches, and other useful products for children

The platform, bappa.org, is expected to feature stories about Ganesh idols, celebrations and traditions from around 40,000 villages across Maharashtra, Fadnavis said

The Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has announced a public auction of gold and silver ornaments, other items offered by devotees during the festival. The auction will be held on September 30 from 5 pm to 10 pm at Lalbaug Market

The delayed immersion is one of the best-known traditions associated with Andhericha Raja, with the mandal retaining its life-size idol until Sankashti Chaturthi instead of immersing it along with most of Mumbai’s major Ganpati idols on Anant Chaturdashi

More than 200 complaints concerning lost and stolen mobile phones were received at various police stations during the immersion festivities. Police registered cases involving 192 lost or stolen mobile phones, while 10 separate cases were filed over mobile phone and gold chain thefts

Singer Jubin Nautiyal and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on September 14, coinciding with Ganesh Chaturthi. Jubin shared the news, saying mother and baby are healthy and the family is enjoying the special moments

Manufacturers have cited rising prices of key inputs such as copper, aluminium and steel, higher costs of crude oil derivatives and freight, as well as currency exchange volatility amid the ongoing West Asia crisis

On the final day of Ganeshotsav, a sea of devotees bade the deity a loving farewell, just until next year

According to the latest tide forecast, Mumbai was expected to witness a high tide of 4.27 metres at 11.31 am on Saturday. The timing of the immersion was therefore before the forecast high tide

The figures include 6,936 public Ganesh idols, 28,638 household idols and 554 Gauri idols. No untoward incident was reported during the immersion process until 3 pm
