After weeks of relentless freezing temperatures, communities across Indiana are now facing a new threat, violent storms and tornado warnings that have left visible destruction and widespread disruption. The National Weather Service office in Indianapolis issued urgent tornado warnings after sightings near the Monroe County Airport triggered immediate alerts. Severe weather rapidly intensified over Bloomington and surrounding parts of Monroe County, damaging homes, businesses and critical infrastructure. Storm damage was reported at several locations, including facilities linked to Fifth Third Bank, local dealerships, and the campus of the Monroe County Humane Association.
