Domestic gold futures rise to Rs 1.52 lakh per 10 gm; silver futures up 1.09 per cent to Rs 2.33 lakh per kg

Gold prices on Monday rose by Rs 455 to Rs 1.52 lakh per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contracts for October delivery traded higher by Rs 455, or 0.3 per cent, at Rs 1,52,275 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,127 lots.

Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in precious metal prices, analysts said.

Globally, gold futures declined 0.16 per cent to USD 4,334.53 per ounce in New York.

Silver prices rose 1.09 per cent to Rs 2.33 lakh per kg in the futures trade on Monday amid a firm global trend.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the white metal for September delivery increased by Rs 2,514, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 2,33,980 per kilogram in a business turnover of 1,496 lots.

Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in silver prices, analysts said.

In the overseas market, silver futures increased 0.41 per cent to USD 63.81 per ounce.
