Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi
In January, mid-day had reported that filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari was gearing up to take the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Ramayana, on floors by March (Ram katha shuru, Jan 12). We now hear the team has begun scouting for actors to play young Ram and Lakshman, at the Prime Focus office in Mumbai.
The director is expected to zero in on the actors within the next two weeks. A source reveals, "Ranbir is playing Lord Ram while Naveen Polishetty has been approached for the role of Lakshman. Nitesh sir and the casting team want to ensure that the younger versions of Ram and Lakshman are in alignment with the actors playing the grown-up parts. At the moment, four to five young actors have been shortlisted."
