Janhvi Kapoor's relationship with Shikhar Pahariya is no secret. The two have been reportedly dating for several years now. Although the couple has never publicly made their relationship official, they have never shied away from expressing their affection publicly through their spotting together during temple visits, cosy dinner outings, and industry events. Amid their steady relationship, recent reports emerged that the couple is planning to take the next big step by tying the knot.
Recently, speculation emerged that Janhvi and Shikhar are planning on getting married soon. Reports also claimed the couple was considering a traditional wedding later this year, possibly between September and October. It added that the couple was considering Jamnagar as a potential venue for their big day. The rumours quickly went viral across entertainment portals and social media, sparking excitement among fans.
However, Janhvi's father, Boney Kapoor, has now put all the speculation to rest, dismissing the claims. Speaking to ETimes, the veteran producer strongly said, "No, this is not true," shutting down the ongoing wedding buzz for now.
Janhvi and Shikhar were childhood friends whose bond eventually blossomed into love. Rumours about their alleged relationship first surfaced in 2016, although neither of them confirmed nor denied them.
According to reports, the two even parted ways for a brief time after Janhvi made her Bollywood debut in 2018. Janhvi Kapoor later hinted at their short-lived break-up during an appearance on Koffee With Karan. However, the couple later reportedly reunited in 2022 and, since then, have been going strong, often making joint public appearances.
Shikhar also seems to be close with Janhvi's family and shares a strong bond with them. He is often seen at their family gatherings and celebrations.
Janhvi had subtly confirmed their romance last year when she was spotted wearing a customised 'Shiku' necklace, her nickname for Shikhar, at the red carpet screening of Maidaan in 2024. The gesture quickly caught everyone's eye and was widely considered as her way of making the relationship official without a formal announcement.
