Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon to shoot a grand song for Cocktail 2 on Sicily’s beaches in Italy; pics go viral

Earlier this week, mid-day reported that Cocktail 2 had gone on floors with Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna (Cocktail Sundays, Sept 14). With Homi Adajania's directorial venture generating much interest since its announcement, it's not surprising that pictures from the shoot surfaced online on Wednesday, which saw Kapoor and Sanon strolling down the lanes of Italy. A bit of digging revealed that the unit is currently shooting in Sicily, and the makers have planned a grand song sequence that will be filmed across the region's most iconic spots.

So, can we expect an exquisitely shot track like Tumhi Ho Bandhu from Cocktail (2012), which featured Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Diana Penty? An insider revealed, "The idea is to not only create a visually stunning number with Shahid and Kriti, but also match the freshness of the original Cocktail. The song is likely to be shot in the last week of September."

During the month-long Sicily schedule, Adajania will also capture extensive beach sequences. A source close to the production said, "The director has set some key moments on Sicily's beaches. Homi wants to capture the warmth of the setting as he feels it will lend a beautiful mood to the sequences." After the Italy leg is complete, the cast and crew will return to Mumbai by next month and begin the second schedule after Diwali for the 2026 release.
