Disha Patani was criticised on social media after she arrived at the Ambani's Ganpati celebrations in Mumbai. Known for her glamorous style, the Baaghi 2 actress often turns heads with her fashion choices at public gatherings and celebrations. But her latest choice of a deep-neck blouse did not sit well with a section of social media users. While some admired her, others felt that her dressing sense was not appropriate for a religious celebration.
Disha opted for a red lehenga with intricate embroidery, a matching blouse featuring a deep neckline, and a red dupatta tucked over one shoulder. She complemented the look with statement earrings, bangles, a ring and open, flowing hair. The actress was seen posing for the shutterbugs as she arrived for Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 celebrations.
However, her outfit soon became the topic of discussion online, with some criticising and trolling her over the plunging neckline of the blouse. One user commented, "Kriti sanon ko troll krne walo zra yha bhi dekhlo", referring to the recent flak faced by Kriti Sanon over her Raksha Bandhan advertisement. Another user commented, "What kind of outrageous outfit for Ganapati celebrations? They should keep a dress code."
Disha Patani's outfit trolling comes amid a similary controversy involving Kriti Sanon's Raksha Bandha ad. In August 2026, Kriti faced backlash over an advertisement for a jewellery brand, in which she wore an Indo-western outfit, featuring a bralette-style blouse with a cape and draped skirt. The campaign showed her commemorating Raksha Bandhan and tying a rakhi to a dog. Well, some online users questioned the outfit, calling it 'inappropriate' as per religious celebrations.
The criticism also stemmed from actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who questioned the campaign's portrayal of the festival. Kriti, however, took a stand and argued that the significance of the festival lies in traditions and emotions rather than a woman's choice of clothing. She wrote on Instagram, "Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline."
The controversy grew, and the brand GIVA eventually took down the advertisement from all media platforms, saying the decision was made out of respect for Indian culture and traditions, as well as safety concerns for its stores and employees who played a role in the decision.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Disha Patani is set to make her Hollywood debut with The Portal of Force, a high-stakes action-fantasy drama directed by Kevin Spacey.
