Rashmeet Kaur's ‘Bajre Da Sitta' recently took social media by storm, with celebrities, influencers and other netizens grooving to the track. The singer is back with a new track ‘Oceana' for which she has collaborated with Gurbax. The duo tells midday.com all about their upcoming project.

Did ‘Bajre da Sitta's' success take you all by surprise?
Rashmeet: It was completely a surprise. We never expected such response but it was lovely to see how people from every generation were grooving to our track and it's still growing and keeps getting bigger.

Tell us about your latest track ‘Oceana' and the message behind it?
Rashmeet: My latest track ‘Oceana' with Gurbax talks about toxic relationships and how the girl is being disregarded by the lover, but still her heart is drowning in love. And the video shows how beautifully she figures out that she is the one who can save herself from drowning in this endless pain.
Gurbax: I feel like all my life I've aspired to make something as beautiful as ‘Oceana'. Sounds that feel like you're drowning in an ocean of memories. Droplets of sadness that overwhelm your being. The track is about the feelings of a woman drowning in a toxic relationship. The overarching message being that no matter how dire the situation may seem, you can and are the only one who can save yourself.

What can the audience expect next?
Rashmeet: Currently I'm working on my 2nd EP and few collaborations with some wonderful artists are in the pipeline.
Gurbax: Tons of new music! May be an album, a US Tour in October… so get ready! 2021 isn't done yet.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Rashmeet: I enjoy listening to hip-hop, RnB, Indian classical, Sufi… totally depends on mood.
Gurbax: All kinds of music… my playlist is such a complete mix of RnB, drum and bass, Ethiopian tizita, lo-fi, pop, electronic, rap, etc. I curate a playlist called ‘Gurbax's Picks' on my Spotify if anyone is interested in hearing my current favourites.
