Director Vishal Chaturvedi has created history with his latest film, Hanuman Ansh. The film, based on Neem Karoli Baba, has marked a breakthrough outing for the filmmaker with its box office success. Made on a modest budget of Rs 2 crore, the devotional drama has managed to achieve an incredible feat by crossing the Rs 200 crore mark in India. Amid the film's success, the filmmaker has now announced his next film.
On the ocassion of Ganesh Chaturthi 2026, Vishal shared that he will next be directing a film titled Rambola, which will be based on the extraordinary life and legacy of Mahakavi Goswami Tulsidas. The upcoming film will revolve around the journey of the revered poet and spiritual figure whose works continue hold great significance in Indian culture.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the makers shared a visual, which read, "With Bappa's Blessings, on this auspicious day, with humility and gratitude, we bring to you RamBola, the immortal story of Goswami Tulsidas. Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi. Produced by Mahaveer Jain, Vishal Chaturvedi, Amit Upadhyay & Raghuvendra Singh. Presented by Mahaveer Jain Films."
Notably, Rambola will be Vishal Chaturvedi's next step into devotional cinema after the release and success of Hanuman Ansh. The film, which is currently enjoying a great run in the theatres, explores the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba.
It is inspired by the book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, and released in theatres on August 7, 2025. Despite receiving lukewarm response at the box office initially, the film took off in the following weeks. Its collections improved eventually during the second week and contonued to grow rapidly. The film has now crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in its sixth week.
Hanuman Ansh features Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand in key roles. The film is about Lakshmi Narayan, a young boy in pre-Independence India who leaves home after his mother's death in search of God. His spiritual journey takes him across North India, eventually leading to his transformation into the spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba.
Meanwhile, Vishal has also confirmed a sequel to Hanuman Ansh.
