Sanjay Leela Bhansali to wrap Love and War, begin Madhubala biopic shoot in September

That finish line is now clearly in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's view. We've heard that the filmmaker will shoot the final song of ‘Love & War' at Royal Palms in Goregaon next week, before calling it a wrap on the Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal-starrer. But Bhansali won't be budging from the location right after. Industry insiders have told mid-day that the same location will be used soon after for the Madhubala biopic, which stars ‘Dhurandhar' find Sara Arjun and is backed by the filmmaker.

"After the ‘Love & War' shoot concludes in August-end, the production design team of the Madhubala biopic will start work on transforming the space. The film is expected to roll in September," revealed a source.

The biopic will reportedly be a direct-to-OTT release

To be helmed by ‘Darlings' (2022) director Jasmeet K Reen, the yet-untitled biopic was previously stalled over budgetary concerns, but gained momentum after Bhansali joined as a producer. The source added, "Sara has started preparing for the role. Jasmeet wants to capture Madhubala's personality, mannerisms, and the world she inhabited."
