Meerra said she had booked a cab for six hours early Tuesday morning but was left disappointed by the condition of the vehicle and the driver. She eventually cancelled the ride but claimed she was charged for the entire duration.

In her post, she wrote, "Had a massively scary unfortunate experience with Uber Uber_India. Booked a cab for 6 hrs early morning. The driver came in a dirty, stinking, dusty car. When I asked him why the car was smelling, I realised he was barely able to talk and was almost sleeping while driving. I got out of the cab within 20 minutes and booked another one. And what does Uber do? Instead of cleaning up their own act, they charge me for the entire 6 hours."

She further criticised public transport safety standards in the country, adding, "Safety standards in our country with public transport are deeply compromised and in situations like this companies like Uber are trying to make money. Disgusting!!"

After Meerra shared her experience, several users commented on her post, narrating similar incidents. Responding to one comment about poor customer service, she wrote that this was not the first time she had faced such an issue and that she eventually stopped taking their calls. She added that while resolutions may be difficult in the country, Uber India's licence should be revoked at least temporarily until it improves its standards.

Uber Support responded with a generic message asking her to contact them with further details. At the time of writing, there was no update on the resolution.
