Priyadarshan later reacted to the producer's clarification, confirming that the development is indeed true. "What Feroze has said, is true. I am not associated with Hera Pheri 3 at the present," he told Hindustan Times..
The filmmaker further added if the comedy caper will be made or not is uncertain now. Priyadarshan said, "To the best of my knowledge, Hera Pheri 3 will never hit the screen due to lots of legal issues and personal conflicts. Whether I am involved or not is unimportant."
For the unversed, the first 2000's Hera Pheri was directed by Priyadarshan, while its sequel Phir Hera Pheri (2006) was helmed by Neeraj Vora. As far as Hera Pheri 3 is concerned, Indra Kumar was officially brought on board in 2018 to direct the third instalment; however, he later exited the project.
