On Tuesday, KRK took to his official X account, offering Rs 10 lakh to support Yadav and urging members of the film fraternity to step in. "I am ready to give Rs 10 lakhs for Rajpal Yadav. About Rajpal Yadav's case

For the uninitiated, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the police after the Delhi High Court directed him to do so in connection with multiple cheque bounce cases. Yadav had taken a loan to produce his film Ata Pata Laapata in 2010 but was unable to repay it. In 2018, a magisterial court sentenced the actor and his wife to six months in jail. In 2019, a sessions court upheld the verdict.

In 2024, when the actor and his wife approached the Delhi High Court seeking relief, the court temporarily suspended the sentence, noting that they were not habitual offenders and allowing time for settlement. However, the actor failed to repay the debt.

A single-judge bench of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma deprecated the actor's conduct, observing his repeated failure to honour settlement commitments despite being granted several opportunities.

"This Court is of the view that the conduct of the petitioner no. 1 (Rajpal Yadav) deserves to be deprecated. Despite repeatedly giving assurances and seeking indulgence of this Court, he has failed to comply with the orders passed from time to time," Justice Sharma observed.

The Delhi High Court was hearing a batch of petitions filed by Yadav and his wife challenging their conviction and sentence under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
