After the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana faced criticism over its visual effects, Ranbir Kapoor has addressed the concerns on several occasions, defending the efforts of the artists. Now, the actor has opened up about the growing impact of artificial intelligence on filmmaking, stressing that technology can enhance cinema but can never replace the human touch in storytelling. Yash also shared his thoughts on the debate.
Ranbir on the impact of AI
Speaking to BBC News about the impact of AI on films, Ranbir said, "Art is always more personal when there is a human touch to it. I think AI, like VFX or camera lenses, can be used as a tool to better your filmmaking. But from the medium we come from – of storytelling, of art, of performing art – I don’t think AI can ever replace that."
