The controversy surrounding Kala Hiran has left everyone talking, especially after Salman Khan sent a legal notice to the makers. The film, reportedly inspired by Salman Khan's infamous blackbuck poaching case, has stirred up controversy even before the teaser or trailer of the film was released. Amid the row, producer Amit Jani recently claimed he has received death threats and pressure after being served a legal notice by Salman Khan's team. The matter escalated after the producer shared a video on social media wherein he was seen tearing the legal notice allegedly sent by Salman Khan's lawyers. In the now viral video, Jani is seen stating that he would not be intimidated by Salman Khan and that he would continue with the production of Kala Hiran.
The filmmaker also claimed that he was facing threats and pressure from multiple quarters; however, he was determined to move forward with the project. Amid the growing controversy, Somy Ali backed the producer by publicly reacting to Jani's video post. The actress wrote, "Aapko Pura haq hai koi bhi subject pe film banane ka. Sirf guilty log chupte hain aur dhamki dete hai. (You have every right to make a film on any subject. Only the guilty hide and issue threats)"
Somy's comment quickly drew attention online. Amit Jani quickly reacted to the comment, saying, "Thanks for open support."
Jani alleged that he received a legal notice from Salman Khan demanding that the makers abstain from releasing any content related to Kala Hiran, including any posters and teasers. The filmmaker further claimed that the notice sought a written apology from the production team. Despite the allegations and public statements, Salman Khan's team is yet to issue a response regarding the matter.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy with his upcoming projects. The actor is working on his next untitled film directed by Vamshi Paidipally and co-starring Nayanthara. He also has Maatrubhumi in the pipeline, which is expected to be released in August 2026. The actor is also reportedly in discussions with filmmaker duo Raj and DK for another project.
