Actress Aneet Padda, who made her big Bollywood debut in 2025 with Mohit Suri's romantic musical film Saiyaara, is set to be seen in a horror comedy next. Soon after the success of the film, alongside Ahaan Panday, Aneet was signed for Maddock's horror comedy flick, Shakti Shalini.
The actress has already started shooting for the upcoming film. Meanwhile, a video of her from the sets of the film has now gone viral on the internet, raising excitement around the film.
In the viral video that has leaked from the sets, Aneet Padda can be seen donning a green school uniform. The schoolgirl look is completed with the typical two-braid hairstyle. Aneet is seen walking on the set accompanied by her team. The clip is reportedly shot in Gwalior, giving a glimpse of the film's grounded setting. The clip has since sparked curiosity amongst her fans.
The upcoming film, Shakti Shalini, comes after her performance in Mohit Suri's Saiyaara (2025), in which she played a girl-next-door character, making her debut with Ahaan Panday. In the new project, Aneet is likely to portray dual roles as Shakti, the protector, and Shalini, the evil force. Although the makers have kept the details of the storyline under wraps, the video has drawn attention to the difference between this role and her earlier work.
Aneet's entry to Maddock Films' famous horror-comedy universe was teased in Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thamma. In the end credits of Thamma, Aneet was introduced as Shakti Shalini, accompanied by a message that read, "The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all. Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini. Shakti unleashed Dec 24, 2026." The clip not only announced the film but also introduced Aneet, along with revealing the release date as December 24, 2026. Notably, the film is set to lock horns with Shah Rukh Khan's King, which releases on the same day.
Meanwhile, Aneet Padda is also set to reunite with Ahaan and Mohit for another intense love story. Backed by YRF, the untitled film promises a cinematic experience that blends heartfelt storytelling with unforgettable melodies. The film is all set to go on floors later this year and will possibly eye a 2027 theatrical release worldwide.
