Music composer Amaal Mallik has taken his public feud with fellow composer Tanishk Bagchi a step further by alleging that he is being threatened using the name of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The composer on Friday, July 24, tagged both Fadnavis and Mumbai Police in a post on X (formerly Twitter), seeking intervention as the online spat continued to escalate.
Amaal wrote, "Are you really allowed to use a politician's name and backing to threaten another citizen of the country?" He asked to be educated on the subject and tagged Mumbai Police. Also tagging Fadnavis, he added, "Mr Fadnavis, your name is being used to threaten me, please look into this matter." Adding to it, he also threatened Tanishk Bagchi, saying that he's done for today.
The fresh post comes after Amaal launched a scathing attack on Tanishk in a series of messages shared on X. Without holding back, he accused the composer of copying songs, using AI-generated vocals, manipulating public perception through PR and attempting to sabotage the release of his latest song, Yeh Awarapan. In one of the posts, Amaal referred to Tanishk Bagchi as the "Zazooo of the music industry" and claimed he had "caught his pattern."
Amaal also made several personal allegations, questioning Tanishk's originality and accusing him of creating unnecessary competition by releasing music around the same time. He further alleged that the composer had harmed the careers of several singers and emerging artists, while also taking aim at his professional relationships within the industry. Many of the claims remain unverified, and Tanishk Bagchi has not publicly responded to the allegations.
The latest tweet quickly triggered reactions from social media users. While several fans urged Amaal to share proof of the alleged threats and approach the authorities formally, others expressed concern for the composer's well-being. Some users advised him to stay away from public confrontations, while others called for Mumbai Police to investigate if intimidation had indeed taken place.
Neither Tanishk Bagchi nor Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had issued a public response to Amaal's latest post. With the exchange now drawing political attention alongside the music industry's interest, the controversy continues to unfold in full public view.
