Vicky Kaushal has embraced the new phase of his life as a father after welcoming his son, Vihaan. However, the actor finds it difficult to leave home for shoots and stay away from his son. While he has been lauded for his performances, he recently received backlash for a joke about marriage. He has now reacted to the criticism and shed light on how fame comes with pressure.

He said, "There is no way that just because you're a public figure, you need to be perfect. Sometimes we do deserve the brickbats, and maybe the learning there for me is that, as much as people are giving me love, it also comes with a certain sense of responsibility."

He added, "No actor has gotten fame and not gotten the flip side of it. I made the conscious choice that I wanted to be here, and the Universe is reciprocating. Now it's on me how I handle [the fame]. And if the criticism is constructive, you can learn from it."

In March, a clip from a wedding surfaced online showing Vicky asking a groom, "How's the josh?" As the audience responded with "High, sir!", Vicky quipped, "I've noticed that bachelors always have high energy and enthusiasm. For those of us who are married, that enthusiasm keeps dropping year after year."

Vicky recalled the moment he had to leave home for a shoot and stay away from his son. He shared, "My heart sank. It was hard."

Vicky added, "There are so many new feelings that surface almost on a daily basis because being a parent is new to me. I understand now when others would say, 'Yaar, bacha kitna jaldi bada ho raha hai' (the child is growing up so quickly). And I would think, 'What are you talking about? Your child is still a year old.' Now I get it."

Katrina and Vicky tied the knot in 2021 in a private yet beautiful ceremony. The couple welcomed their firstborn, a son, on November 7, 2025. They announced his name, Vihaan, in an adorable post, and fans were quick to point out the URI connection. Vicky recently celebrated his birthday with the little one, and Katrina shared adorable glimpses of their family time.
