Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal
Cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal are all set to tie the knot on November 23. The pre-wedding festivities have already begun, and Smriti's World Cup-winning teammates have shared glimpses from her haldi ceremony. In the videos doing the rounds on social media, Smriti is seen dancing with her teammates at the pre-wedding celebration.
Smriti, along with Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh, Shivali Shinde, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah Rodrigues, was seen in bright yellow outfits matching the festive theme. The group danced enthusiastically to upbeat wedding songs in the videos.
Shafali shared a video of Mandhana dancing with her loved ones and captioned it, "Ladki wale."
On Friday, Palaash shared a video of his proposal to Smriti. In the video, Palaash is dressed in a suit while Smriti looks stunning in a red gown. She is blindfolded and guided by him into the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai - the same ground where the women's cricket team made history earlier this month by winning the World Cup. Palaash then went down on one knee in the middle of the ground and proposed to her. They were later joined by friends and family, including Palaash's singer-sister Palak Muchhal.
Ahead of their special day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes and blessings to the couple and also to their respective families.
An official letter from the PM's office read, "It is delightful to learn about the wedding of Sou. Smriti and Chi. Palaash to be held on 23rd November, 2025. Heartiest congratulations and greetings to the Mandhana and Muchhal families on the auspicious and joyous occasion."
It further read, "Walking hand in hand through every season of life, may the couple find strength in each other's presence, and may their hearts, minds and souls be in harmony. May their dreams intertwine and grow together, guiding them toward a future filled with joy and deep understanding." The letter further read, "May Smriti and Palaash build a shared life rooted in trust, standing by each other always, embracing responsibilities with love and growing together through each other's strengths and imperfections."
PM Modi, through his letter, further wished them all the luck. "As they start a new, beautiful life together, the grace of Smriti's cover drive meets the lilting musical symphony of Palaash in a wonderful partnership. It is fitting that a Celebration Cricket Match has been scheduled between Team Groom and Team Bride! May both these teams win in the game of life. I send my blessings to the couple for the momentous occasion. (Narendra Modi)," it read.
The couple have been dating for quite some time and have been vocal about their love for each other.
