The film opened with Rs 73 crore on Thursday before collecting Rs 58.4 crore on Friday and Rs 85 crore on Saturday. Sunday brought its biggest opening-weekend collection at Rs 93 crore.

The India milestone is only one part of the film's global box office story. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has also recorded the third-biggest second weekend of all time in North America.

Globally, the film has crossed the USD 1 billion mark overseas, becoming the second-fastest film to reach the milestone, according to Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The film's performance in India has been particularly notable given its multilingual release. Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, allowing the Marvel superhero's latest big-screen outing to reach audiences across the country.

With Rs 504 crore already in the bag, the film has not only entered an elite box office club but has also established a new benchmark for Hollywood releases in India.
