The wait for Ridley Scott's The Dog Stars is almost over. 20th Century Studios has dropped the final trailer for the filmmaker's much-awaited post-apocalyptic thriller, offering a deeper look into a world where hope has become humanity's rarest resource.
Headlined by Saltburn star Jacob Elordi, the film is based on Peter Heller's bestselling novel of the same name and is set to release exclusively in Indian cinemas on August 28, 2026.
The newly released trailer introduces audiences to Hig (Jacob Elordi), a young pilot trying to survive in a world devastated by catastrophe. Living in isolation alongside hardened military survivalist Bangley, played by Josh Brolin, Hig has managed to build a fragile existence away from civilisation. But everything changes when he picks up a mysterious radio transmission that hints there could still be life beyond the ruins.
Driven by the possibility of finding other survivors, Hig embarks on a dangerous journey into the unknown, risking everything in search of hope, human connection and a future worth fighting for.
Known for iconic films like Gladiator, Alien and The Martian, Ridley Scott once again explores survival under extraordinary circumstances, blending large-scale action with intimate human drama.
Alongside Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, The Dog Stars boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong and Guy Pearce, all of whom appear briefly in the final trailer, teasing the emotional encounters awaiting Hig on his journey.
The screenplay has been adapted by Mark L. Smith, best known for The Revenant, from Peter Heller's acclaimed novel. Scott serves as producer alongside Michael Pruss, Mark L.
