After his superhit film 'Bheeshma Parvam' starring megastar Mammootty, cinematographer-filmmaker Amal Neerad has announced his return to the director's chair. He has announced his next, a dark thriller titled 'Bougainvillea'. Titled Bougainvillea, the makers of the movie have finally unveiled its first look poster, featuring the main cast and offering a small glimpse into the movie's world.

'Bougainvillea' will star Kunchacko Boban in the lead. While the poster also features Fahadh Faasil, it is rumoured that the actor will be seen in a cameo role. The film will mark the return of the actress Jyothirmayi on the big screen after a long gap. The film also stars Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda in key roles.

Kunchacko Boban stands in the center of the poster with an intense look while holding a shotgun. Fahadh stands right beside him pointing a pistol in another direction. Sporting a salt-and-pepper look and wielding another shotgun, Jyothirmayi can be seen standing to Boban's right. In the background, Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda add to the intensity, all bearing expressions of fury. The poster is made in hues of red indicative of the dark-thriller genre of the film.

Amal Neerad is known for his action-packed spectacles and for presenting violent narrative in an engaging and aesthetic manner. Neerad started his career as a cinematographer in Ranjith's 'Black', featuring Mammootty in the lead role, in 2004. He turned director with Mammootty-starrer 'Big B' (2007) which became a trendsetter and is considered one of the films that changed the vision for filmmakers in Kerala.

Meanwhile, Fahadh Faasil had a great run at the box office this year so far. He co-produced the film 'Premalu' which proved to be a massive hit crossing Rs 100 crore. His film 'Aavesham' was also a huge hit that saw him in a completely new avatar. His character Ranga has become widely popular finding a space in pop culture.
