Tamil superstar-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay once again proved the strength of his fan following during a recent visit to the revered Sri Mookambika Temple in Karnataka. Videos from the visit have gone viral on social media, showing emotional scenes as hundreds of admirers gathered to catch a glimpse of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Vijay visited temple in Kollur

Vijay visited the temple in Kollur on Friday and offered prayers amid tight security arrangements. Dressed in traditional attire with a red shawl draped over his shoulders, the actor-politician was warmly received by devotees and supporters. Reports also stated that he donated a silver sword to the temple during his visit.

As videos of the visit surfaced online, one particular clip captured widespread attention. The footage showed a young female fan breaking down in tears while trying to get closer to Vijay as he left the temple premises. Despite security personnel attempting to hold her back, she continued pleading and even ran behind his vehicle as it moved away. The emotional moment highlighted the deep connection many fans continue to share with the former actor, even after his transition into full-time politics.

Fan runs sobbing to meet Vijay

Another video showed Vijay driving himself away from the temple while greeting supporters gathered along the route. Spotting fans waiting in the rain, he rolled down his car window, smiled, waved and folded his hands in acknowledgement, drawing cheers from the crowd. Heavy rain failed to dampen the enthusiasm of those who had assembled outside the temple and along the roads leading from the shrine.

The visit also carried historical significance. Vijay became only the third Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to visit the Mookambika Temple while in office, following former chief ministers M. G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa. The pilgrimage came just days before Vijay's 52nd birthday on June 22, making the visit particularly special for his supporters.

Vijay's temple appearance once again underscored his enduring popularity, with fans turning out in large numbers for a glimpse of the star-turned-leader despite the weather and heavy security presence.
