Rohed Khan became the first contestant to be evicted from Bigg Boss 20 after a two-week stint on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show. The Austrian actor, who entered the house as an outsider, exclusively spoke to mid-day about his experience, his equation with Aamrapali Dubey, Qazi Touqeer's game and moments that did not make it to the episodes.
Looking back at his brief yet eventful stint, Rohed said, "It was just two weeks, but really colourful days. During these two weeks, there was colour thrown around, cake was served, popcorn was given out. So, it was a pretty lively event for two weeks. I'm happy and I'm sad too, but I'm more happy to see the love from the people."
Rohed also opened up about his bond with Aamrapali, hinting that there could have been more to their equation had he stayed longer. "I'm a slow burner, okay? But when I catch fire, I burn it all down. It was just a spark, maybe something could've come out of it later. I really liked her. It was short-lived, but I felt that connection," he said.
He added, "I did a Ravi Kishan dialogue with her from a movie - she taught me that. Then I did that dance for her; she taught me a bit of Bhojpuri dance and dialogues. I even did a meme with Ravi Kishan ji with her. I did everything, they just didn't show it."
Rohed admitted that he entered the show without enough preparation because of his visa requirements. "To be honest. I'm from Austria, okay? And when it came to Bigg Boss stuff, it was really hard for me because I was in India, I had signed up, and I needed to fly back home to sort out my visa and then come back to the show. I didn't have much time to prepare."
He said he was advised to simply be himself. However, he later realised that he had openly discussed nominations, which went against the rules. "I wish I had read it properly, but it was my mistake that I talked too much about the nomination, talked way too openly. I even told Qazi that I was going to nominate him for this and that reason. If I had known, I wouldn't have done it. Now, I'm the one paying the price for what I did, and here I am facing you all."
On Qazi, Rohed said, "I never thought I'd compliment Qazi in life." He added, "Ever since I came out, my respect for him has gone up so much. He's not just anyone; he's one of the most entertaining personalities."
Rohed also recalled feeling like an outsider and said, "I was the first to realise what was really going on he was playing everyone." He admitted, "When I stepped outside the Bigg Boss house just now, I was like, okay, that guy played it well. He gave some lame excuse about his health to about 15 or 16 people and did what he did. Millions of people were entertained, no doubt."
Talking about Mary Kom, Rohed said, "In my opinion, Mary Kom is an icon. She won a gold medal for India." He revealed, "I did a lot of martial arts. I trained with Mary Kom. Imagine that! I caught Mary Kom's punch twice."
Rohed concluded by revealing that several of his moments never made the cut. "I did a lot of flirting and chatting with my Bhojpuri drama. I was on my shy way, but that wasn't even shown. I was speaking dialogues in Bhojpuri, speaking dialogues in Punjabi too. That wasn't shown either." He added, "I've done my part, but the content itself for me... I think the content of that house was something different. If I had, for example, shouted and talked loud, maybe I would've fit in better there."
