Mahhi Vij calls reports of divorce with Jay Bhanushali 'false narratives', threatens legal action

Actors Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali have been making headlines ever since reports confirming their divorce surfaced online. The two had already been in the news for rumours of trouble in their marriage over the past few months, but the reports intensified after sources claimed that their divorce was official. Amid these reports, Mahhi has reacted strongly, calling them false narratives and warning of legal action.

Mahhi Vij breaks silence on divorce rumours

Mahhi Vij recate dto an Instagram post that claimed the couple have ended tehir marriage of 14 years. The page wrote, "It's Over? After 14 years of marriage Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij heading for a divorce, Sources confirmed that the divorce papers were signed and finalised between July and August 2025. The custody of their three children has also been decided. A source told Hindustan Times, "Much was tried, but nothing changed. Separation happened a long time ago. They filed for divorce a couple of months back."

It further read, "Reports suggest that trust issues were a significant reason behind the couple's strained relationship. The couple was last seen together publicly at their daughter Tara's birthday party.. The actress added that people look at single mothers and divorces very differently. She said that many assume there would be drama and that the couple would start blaming each other. She felt that there is a lot of pressure from society and urged everyone to just live and let live."

Mahhi took to the comment section of the post and wrote, "Don't post false narratives.ill take legal action against this."

When Mahhi spoke about divorce rumours

Back in July, in an interview with Hauterrfly, Mahhi had reacted to the divorce rumours doing the rounds. "Even if it is the case, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer's fee? Why do people make such a big deal out of somebody's divorce or separation? I see people writing in my comments section, ‘Mahhi toh decent hai, Jay aisa hai'. Then somebody else writes, ‘Jay accha hai, Mahhi hi aisi hai'. They just want to blame someone. Do you even know the truth?" she had said.

The couple has been living separately for over a year. They reunited for daughter Tara's birthday, but glimpses from the celebration showed they were distant. Jay even went on vacation with Tara recently, sans Mahhi.
