Shilpa Shinde and Shubhangi Atre
Shubhangi Atre's departure from the famous comedy show 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain' was first reported on the Internet a few days ago. According to reports, the makers have asked Shilpa Shinde to replace Shubhangi as Angoori Bhabhi. Shubhangi has confirmed her exit from the show. The actor, who took on this role in 2016 following Shilpa Shinde's departure, stated that it is a blessing in disguise because she now wants to explore other personalities. While she did not specify why she was leaving Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, she wished Shilpa the best of luck in reprising her role.
Shubhangi Atre told the Bombay Times that she is leaving away with nothing but appreciation. She stated that she shot her farewell episode last week. "I always promised Mrs Kohli that my journey in the show would start with aan, baan aur shaan, and that is exactly how it would end too. I could not have asked for a better exit. There is no point delving into the reasons for the replacement. I see it as a blessing in disguise because as an artist, I want to explore new characters. The idea is to step out of here and start looking for work again. After seeing so much in life, I am in fighter mode now and focused only on my daughter and my work," she said.
The actress admitted that saying goodbye to the show after nearly a decade was tremendously traumatic and was like leaving home. She then remembered replacing Shilpa Shinde as Angoori Bhabhi in 2016. Shubhangi quipped, "Replacing someone is never easy. When you create a character from scratch, you shape it through your own personality and experiences. But when you take on a role that already exists, you have to retain the nuances without making it seem like a copy and still build your own connection with the audience. I am grateful that viewers accepted me with so much love. In the end, I am satisfied that I did my work with honesty and dedication," she said.
Shilpa Shinde became a household name after playing Angoori Bhabhi in the sitcom Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. However, her abrupt resignation from the show in March 2016 sparked much outrage. Shinde resigned from the show, citing "mental torture" by the producers, saying that she was pressured to sign an exclusivity clause that banned her from appearing on other shows and charging unprofessionalism. She also claimed that she was due money and that she faced discrimination in terms of staffing and support.
Later, the production business sent her a legal notice citing a violation of the contract. The show's creators accused her of unprofessional behaviour.
