Sahher Bambba with Aryan and SRK
Sahher Bambba recently starred in Aryan Khan's directorial venture The Ba'''ds of Bollywood. She essayed the role of Karishma Talwar, daughter of superstar Ajay Talwar (Bobby Deol). In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Sahher recalled her experience of working with Aryan Khan and shared how he is similar to his dad, Shah Rukh Khan. The actress also revealed that Salman Khan's cameo in the series was not planned.
When asked about Aryan as a director, Sahher said, "The whole world has seen how amazing he is. Other than that, he is lovely as a person. He is the most wonderful and chivalrous person. I have not seen a guy like him in my generation."
She added, "He is sensitive as well. After pack-up, he used to call me and ask if I was satisfied with the scenes we shot. He even ensured I reached home safely. I remember once there was a party at Mannat and I told him that I was leaving. He was talking to some people, excused himself, and dropped me to my car. He went all the way out and waited till my car came. Even on set, he was a great energy to be around. He never got angry and never snapped at anybody. He is hardworking; I don't think he has taken a single day off in the last two years."
While audiences often claim Aryan doesn't smile, Sahher described him as the funniest person to be around. "Aryan is extremely witty. So many times, he would randomly crack us all up by saying something."
The series features multiple cameos, but one that stands out is undoubtedly Salman Khan's. The star appears in a scene with Sahher. Recalling the moment, she said, "It was an impromptu scene. We never had Salman Khan's cameo on paper. I remember I would tell Aryan that everyone has a cameo scene, only I don't. And it just happened. When we were shooting that scene, there was chaos on set and everyone just ran in one direction. I wondered who was coming, and then I saw Salman Khan entering. I thought he was just there to say hi to Aryan. Then he came and told me we had to do a scene - it was a pinch-me moment. He was really sweet and I told him how much I love him."
When asked about her trailer preview moment with Shah Rukh Khan, the actress said, "I have grown up watching Shah Rukh Khan and I am his biggest fan. Then I got an opportunity to twirl and dance with him. I came home and shed a couple of happy tears."
While Sahher plays a nepo kid in the series, her real-life journey is quite the opposite. She admitted she has been replaced by star kids in her career. "I would be lying if I said no, it didn't happen. But I believe every film has its destiny and you can't really snatch someone's work. Maybe that part was written for that person and it's fine."
Sahher also opened up about working with Bobby Deol and her association with his family. "It's a very brave thing to be emotional and vulnerable. Bobby Deol is someone who can cry at the drop of a hat because he feels too many emotions deeply. Everyone today is putting on a facade and trying to be strong, and that's the quality I admire in the Deols - that they think from their heart," said the actress.
