Singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad has released his second single, âIf I Cannot Be Yours', from his much anticipated album âFull Moon Chamber', scheduled to release on July 10. This musically distinct single is accompanied by an official music video.
Built around breathy vocals paired with synths, electric guitar and a driving beat, âIf I Cannot Be Yours' is an emotional song asking the lingering question, "If I cannot be yours, darling, who should I be?"
'Full Moon Chamber' is Prateek's third studio album and his first since âThe Way That Lovers Do' (2022). Written and recorded between New York and Los Angeles, the upcoming album explores love, identity, and belonging, through some of Kuhad's most introspective songwriting.
At its core, 'Full Moon Chamber', released via Atlantic Records, traces a journey from inner emotional turbulence towards a deeper sense of calm, love, balance and self-reflection.
This track follows, âBlush', the first of the two tracks from the album that was out last month. Elaborating on this heartfelt track, Prateek Kuhad said, "Sitting at the centre of loss of identity and self rediscovery, âIf I Cannot Be Yours' explores the unsettling space between wanting to leave a relationship and fearing the reality of who you might become without it. It is about reaching a point where so much of your sense of self is tied to another person, that letting go forces you to confront who you are on your own".
Kuhad worked with LA-based producer Nick Ruth (Kelly Clarkson, Bakar, Lauren Spencer Smith) to help bring the project together, refining his recordings into a cohesive, unified vision for 'Full Moon Chamber'.
