As fans gear up for Akon's performance in Mumbai, there is more. India's newest boy band OutStation is set to captivate audiences as the opening act for the internationally renowned Senegalese-American artist in the city on November 16 at NESCO in Goregaon, as a part of his three-city India tour.

Reflecting on the opportunity, members of the band reminded, "Akon is a cultural icon, a voice that has resonated across generations in India. To share the stage as one of his supporting acts is a big honour and a defining moment to showcase our artistry on such a prestigious platform."

Under the mentorship of the critically acclaimed global hitmaker Savan Kotecha - a 17-time Grammy nominee, Oscar & Golden Globe nominee -- the dynamic teenage I-Pop five-member boy band will perform a setlist featuring electrifying originals that will get entertain the audience and get them ready for Akon's performance in Mumbai.

Inspired by the likes of global bands such as One Direction and BTS, the Indian pop band, which started out four months ago, aims to capture the senses of people across the country. Their debut single, eagerly awaited by fans, is scheduled for release on November 18, a day after their opening act, and you may just get a chance to witness it live.

Curated through a rigorous nationwide talent by Visva Records - an innovative imprint by Kotecha in collaboration with Republic Records and Universal Music India and a month-long training bootcamp - OutStation comprises five talents -- Bhuvan Shetty (22) from Udupi, Hemang Singh (20) from Prayagraj, Mashaal Shaikh (21) from Goa, Kurien Sebastian (20) from Delhi, and Shayan Pattem (17) from Hyderabad.

The band's evocative name, pays homage to their diverse origins outside Mumbai, symbolising a collective journey from local dreamers to national sensations.

While Akon has already landed in the country, and even performed in Delhi, he is all set to perform in Mumbai starting 7 pm in a three-hour English language concert, before heading to Bengaluru for his final performance later this month.

It is going to be a busy November as Travis Scott, Passenger and Afrojack are all set to perform in the city this month too.
