IN PHOTOS: Rahul Mishra, Falguni Shane Peacock, and other designers shine at India Couture Week 2025

Several acclaimed Indian fashion designers unveiled their Fall 2025 collections at the ongoing India Couture Week 2025 in New Delhi, which commenced on July 23 and will conclude on July 30

Rahul Mishra opened the fashion extravaganza, unveiling his collection titled ‘Becoming Love’, which charted the transformative passage of love through seven stages described in Sufism – attraction, infatuation, surrender, reverence, devotion, obsession, and death. Actor Tamannaah Bhatia turned showstopper for the designer, walking the ramp in not one but two outfits. While the first look featured a hand-embroidered floral gown, she donned a cosmos-inspired lehenga for the second look.

On the second day, Roseroom by Isha Jajodia unveiled the collection titled ‘Whispers of Love to Myself’, which celebrated the "profound strength found in gentleness". On the same day, designer Suneet Varma showcased his collection titled ‘Sehr’, with Riddhima Kapoor Sahni turning showstopper. She looked elegant in a lehenga set featuring floral embroidery in pastel hues. A sheer cape elevated the ensemble.

On the third day, designer Amit Aggarwal showcased his collection titled ‘Arcanum’, which explored time as an inward journey. Blending futuristic design, Indian craftmanship and sustainability, the collection reimagined fashion as a form of mystical storytelling where models appeared as if they were futuristic beings.

Designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock also unveiled their collection on the third day of India Couture Week 2025. Inspired by cultural sites like the Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodra and the City Palace in Jaipur, the collection featured elements drawn from the opulent world of maharajas and maharanis. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar turned showstopper for Falguni Shane Peacock, walking the ramp in an ivory achkan-style sherwani.

The fourth day saw acclaimed designer Tarun Tahiliani unveil his bridal collection titled ‘Quintessence’. The designer, who marked 30 years in the fashion industry, presented ensembles that blended Indian craftsmanship with contemporary design.

On the fifth day, veteran designer Ritu Kumar unveiled her collection titled ‘Threads of Time: Reimagined’, which included bridal wear and Indian ensembles alongside fusion outfits. The models dazzled in outfits featuring signature gold embroidery. Bhumi Pednekar turned showstopper for the designer, shining in a golden lehenga. The dupatta was replaced with a long cape that trailed behind.

The fifth day ended with Shantnu & Nikhil unveiling their collection titled ‘Metropolis’, which featured sculpted and draped silhouettes embellished with pearls, crystals and beads. The show was a star-studded affair as guests Arjun Rampal, Jim Sarbh, Randeep Hooda, Rajkummar Rao, Vihaan Samat, Zahan Kapoor and Rahul Khanna joined the designer duo on stage to close the presentation.

The remaining three days of Hyundai India Couture Week 2025, which is an initiative by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), will see showcases featuring creations by designers Jayanti Reddy, Aisha Rao, Rimzim Dadu and JJ Valaya, and label Rohit Bal.
