The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners will launch a month-long nationwide mass outreach campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public service, reported the ANI.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the âSeva Sankalp Abhiyan' will run from September 17 to October 17, 2026, reaching people at the grassroots level across the country.
The campaign will coincide with Modi's birthday on September 17 and the completion of 25 years since he first took charge as a Chief Minister and later served as Prime Minister.
Shah said the initiative would not be limited to major public events. Instead, the campaign will be taken to every district, Lok Sabha and Assembly constituency and polling booth, the news agency reported.
The NDA, voluntary organisations and people from across the country are expected to participate in the programme.
"This campaign will be carried out across the entire nation in every administrative unit, including all states and Union Territories," Amit Shah said.
He added that the aim was to take the message of public service directly to people at the grassroots level.
The BJP has said the campaign will highlight themes including public service, good governance, welfare of the poor and the vision of a developed India.
Across the Kashi region, the campaign is expected to focus particularly on booth-level outreach and public participation rather than being organised simply as a series of ceremonial events.
The programme is being planned as a large-scale exercise involving BJP workers, NDA partners, voluntary organisations and members of the public.
One of the main attractions of the campaign will be a bike yatra from Kashi in Uttar Pradesh to Vadnagar in Gujarat, Modi's birthplace.
The yatra is scheduled to begin on September 17, the Prime Minister's birthday. Before its start, water from 10 rivers will be offered at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The bike ride is expected to cover the journey from Kashi to Vadnagar over roughly 20 days and conclude on October 7 in Vadnagar.
The yatra is intended to connect two places closely associated with PM Modi's public and political journey.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Modi had set a record by completing 25 years in public service.
Fadnavis highlighted Modi's tenure as Prime Minister and said the NDA partners in Maharashtra would participate in the campaign.
"Modi ji has set a record by completing 25 years of public service," Fadnavis said, adding that his leadership had been associated with India's progress during his years as Prime Minister.
The nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will continue until October 17. BJP and NDA leaders are expected to use the month-long campaign to highlight Modi's political journey, government programmes and the party's message of public service.
